Who Am I To Teach You About Your Money?

Hi there, I’m Dafina. I’m a financial coach, lawyer, and founder of Dollars Plus Sense. I have been able to successfully manage money for many years now. I’ve gone from having 6-figures worth of debt to financial freedom in 6 years. This all happened because I was able to set up systems and a budget that WORKED. 

However, things weren't always this way for me. For years I struggled with trying to save money and getting out of debt. Although I was earning a good salary, I was still living paycheck to paycheck.

I was just so fed up with my situation that I couldn’t take it anymore.

At that point, I knew I had to get serious about my finances. I decided to make a budget for the first time ever. At first, it was VERY hard for me to stick to my budget. I’m a spender at heart and I LOVE to shop!

It took plenty of trial and error, but I was eventually able to come up with a system to manage my money that WORKED! For the first time, I saw where my money was going and I made a plan for where it would go in the future.

I kept perfecting my budget until I was able to save over 50% of my income every month.

In 2020 alone, I have increased my savings rate by another 20% (all while in a pandemic).

And today?

Nine years later since I’ve started my financial journey, I have mastered the art of budgeting and have become financially free. I’ve taken all the money I’ve saved over the years, and invested it.

I only work because I want to, and it all started from making a budget that WORKS.
